Sports Minister Olivia Grange has announced that statues of outstanding Jamaican track stars will be erected at the National Stadium Statute Park.
The statutes which will be mounted includes the legendary Usain Bolt, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce, Veronica Campbell-Brown and Asafa Powell. Grange says the statutes of Usain and Shelly Ann should be completed by 2017 for the Jamaica’s 55th Independence celebrations while the remaining statues of Asafa and Veronica should be completed over the next two years.

The statues are a symbol of honor to the athletes and their exceptional contribution to the development of Track and Field in Jamaica.
