Attorneys representing Vybz Kartel say they are confident they can overturn the convictions for Dancehall superstar and his three co-accused.
According to Bert Samuels, who is a member of the deejay’s high profile defence team, they are confident victory is on the horizon following a ruling which will allow fresh evidence to be heard in the appeal case.
Earlier this week a panel of judges granted the introduction of fresh evidence to support the defence’s case.
Mavado Seeks Vybz Kartel Legal Team For Son’s Murder Case
On Monday judges approved three pieces of evidence including a handwritten statement by the prosecution’s main witness which allegedly contradicts testimonies during the murder trial.
The deejay’s lawyers say they are eager for next week’s hearing where they will present oral submissions on behalf of their clients.
Vybz Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, along with Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John were convicted in 2014 for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
