Here’s The Real Reason Foota Hype Created His GoFundMe Account

Foota Hype has been exposed on social media and the real reason behind his GoFundMe account is now being revealed.

The outspoken Dancehall selector made headlines earlier this week when he launched the page asking fans to make donations.

Foota Hype’s explanation at the time was he needed the funds to replace his smart phone so he could continue his popular Instagram live sessions, “All my followers who love my [Instagram] live weh want mi get the new phone the GoFundMe up and running mek mi si if mi have real followers now,” he wrote on IG.

Despite backlash online, Foota Hype’s page set up for the donations has already collected over US$350 of the US$1,000 target.

However a few Dancehall insiders are now saying Foota, whose given name is Oneil Thomas was not telling the truth. According to multiple reports, the veteran disc jock is actually using the page to help with his legal fees in the United States.

In legal documents leaked online, its alleged that Foota Hype secretly got married in Florida on January 22, 2016 and his wife is now seeking a divorce.

“This is the real reason Foota Hype started his GoFundMe page,” the source said. “He needs all the money he can get to pay his lawyer and ex-wife in Florida.” It was also revealed that the disc jock’s green card will be expired soon.

Foota Hype is yet to respond to the accusations.
