Female Dancehall Artists Turn To Vybz Kartel To Get Big Break

Its a common trend in the Dancehall industry these days as upcoming female artists turn to Incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel to get the bring break in the genre.

The self-proclaimed ‘Worl Boss’ has been instrumental in a large number of female artists getting attention from dancehall fans over the last decade.

The ‘Fever’ hit maker helped launched the careers of the biggest female names in Dancehall currently such as Spice, Vanessa Bling, Shenseea, Keshan, Toian and most recently Kim Kelly.

Kim Kelly landed a collaboration with Vybz Kartel titled “Alive” earlier this year. The track was produced by Silverbirds Records and featured on the “Rave Riddim.”

Speaking with Nightly Fix last month Kelly admitted that her team wanted to give her career a boost so they reached out the Vybz Kartel for a collaboration.

“This song is helping me to get more acknowledgement,” she said.

“The producer had the song and I guess she just look at me and said Kim you know what you need a song to buss so he just gave me the track and I send it back to them and they mix master and release it.”
