Dee Dre Showcase ‘Unrecognized Greatness’ On New Album

Aiming to scribe his name in the annals of the local and international music industry, burgeoning star Dee Dre has released a new album introducing the gamut of his skill-set which he hopes will not go unrecognized.

Dubbed ‘Unrecognized Greatness’ the 13-track compilation is an exquisitely crafted assemblage, chock full of witty rhymes and melodies covering a plethora of subject matters with something for everyone despite their musical palette.

Released September 7 on the RTG Music imprint, the album is available online, free of cost and can be accessed via Soundcloud, iTunes, Google Play and Spotify. Dee Dre explains the reason is to allow for uninhibited consumption while broadening his fanbase.

“Many will ask why would you put so much effort into making an album only to give it away for free, but as an emerging artiste the key is not to focus on money but instead getting exposure and building a solid fanbase, and there is no better way than to allow people to have unlimited access to your music. Hence the decision was taken by my management team to give it to the fans as a gift”

Emerging from humble beginnings, the artist whose given name is Andre Thompson grew up in the Eastern Kingston community of Manley Meadows where he was exposed to music at an early age. The therapeutic nature of the art-form was a decisive factor in his decision from infancy to pursue the art form professionally.

According to Dee Dre, the difference between a talented individual and a successful one is often defined by their level of determination and consistency. Two of the many guiding principles by which he lives his life. He credits American rapper Tupac Shakur and dancehall stars Bounty Killer and Aidonia as some of his major influences.

Alluding to his debut album Dee Dre says it’s a breath of fresh air stating what easily sets him apart from other artistes is his unique presentation of bringing a story to life. “It’s not a two topic thing for me, life is my inspiration and so whatever life does or wherever it takes me I’ll sing about it.”

Gaining steady momentum across the space, Dee Dre is currently promoting the singles ‘Real Winner’ and ‘That Day Gon’ Come’, both of which continues to find favour with the dancehall populace.
