Cops say entertainers are funding criminal activities

The police high command has made claims that a number of Jamaican entertainers are funding criminal activities throughout the island.

According to statements recently made by Assistant Commissioner and head of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Ealan Powell, several entertainers are using the new found wealth they have acquired to fund criminal activities throughout communities.

The damning claims comes just a week after popular Dancehall artiste Alkaline, real name Earlon Bartley, was detained for five days in relation to a murder investigation.

The senior cop also warned the public against glorifying the actions of some of these entertainers, who they say are promoting negative morals in the country. The senior cop made a specific reference to the influence of incarcerated dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel.
