Clarendon Man Sentenced For Illegal Gun Possession

A Clarendon man has been sentenced to 9 years in prison after being convicted of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition.

Michael Denton, a 27-year-old man from Osbourne Store in the parish was on Friday sentenced to six years for illegal possession of a firearm and three years for illegal possession of ammunition, in the Clarendon Circuit Court.

Both sentences will run concurrently so the man will essentially serve 6 years behind bars.

Denton was convicted earlier this month after cops found an illegal 9mm pistol with three live rounds of ammunition inside a house occupied by him during a police operation in May 2017.
