Bajan Arrested With 60 Pounds Of Ganja At Airport in Kingston

A Barbadian man was arrested and charged after police discovered just over 60 pounds of compressed ganja in his luggage at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston last Friday.

Ricardo Bryan, a 47-year-old butler from Brittons Hill, St Michael in Barbados, was arrested and charged with offences of possession of ganja, dealing in ganja and taking preparatory steps to export ganja after attempting to board a flight.

According to reports, Bryan was detained following a security screening which several irregularities were discovered in his suitcase.

Narcotics investigators promptly searched the man’s two pieces of luggage where they discovered false compartments with compressed ganja weighing approximately 60 pounds.

The man is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Thursday.
