A businessman was shot and killed and his wife injured in Westmoreland on Thursday.
Dead is 26-year-old Devon Paltie of Three Miles River in the parish.
According to reports, about 12 pm Paltie, who operates a car wash, a bar and a restaurant, was at the business establishment when a group of men entered the premises.
One of Devon’s attackers reportedly had a brief conversation with the businessman before he and his accomplices started to fire a barrage of gunshots, forcing workers and customers to scamper for cover.
Paltie and his wife were hit several times. They were taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His wife was admitted for treatment. She suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.
The Savanna -la-Mar Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are investigating. The incident which marks the 12th killing in the parish since the start of the new year.
