Buju Banton and Pharell are up to something big!

Fans can expect something big in the near future as Buju Banton recently hit the studio with producer Pharell Williams.

On Wednesday the Reggae superstar took to Instagram to post a pic of himself and the legendary producer in the studio.

“Legendary levels. Love to my brother Pharrell Williams,” Buju captioned the photo.

Details were first revealed at Tuesday’s Jamaica Reggae Industry Association Awards at the Little Theatre in St Andrew.

Buju was notably absent for his award for ‘Exceptional Contribution to Reggae Industry’ in the songwriting category. However, it was later revealed that the singer busy in the studio with the multi-platinum producer.

The news should prove exciting for Buju’s fans, as he prepares to release his much anticipated new album in April.

Fans are already speculating that the mystery project could be massive one, considering Pharell’s track record.

Pharell Williams is one of the most successful artiste/producers over the last two decades, selling millions of records.

It was confirmed earlier this year that Buju was working on an album, his first in 10 years. The mystery project will be the superstar’s first since 2010’s Grammy-winning Before the Dawn.

Just a few weeks ago Buju’s co-manager, Donavon Germain, revealed that the album was just about complete. He told The Star that fans could expect a multi-genre project, rather than just traditional Reggae and Dancehall.

In Buju’s last interview the singer promised fans that his album would be “something different, to educate, uplift and stimulate”.

Buju also told Hot 97 personality Ebro that: “Most people who listen to reggae music have a different level of knowledge; we call it common sense. This album is going to be riddled with life experience, my experience.”
