2018 is definitely shaping up to be another exceptional year for the 4th Genna camp, as label-mates and Dancehall front-runners Aidonia and Govana have once again found themselves in the international spotlight with their latest effort ‘Breeze’. The hypermasculinized track dubbed the follow-up to ‘Run Road’ has been annexed to mainstream radio via the ‘C-List’ on BBC Radio.
The addition signifies the track will now officially enjoy premium day-time rotation alongside the likes of Grammy winners and nominees Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Drake, Migos, Post Malone, The Weeknd, Chronixx and Kendrick Lamar. Named 2017 ‘Breakthrough Artiste of the Year’ in several quarters, Govana says he is very pleased with the revelation. Last September Aidonia’s monster hit ‘Yeah Yeah’ made its debut on the station’s B-List.
“This is definitely a good look for my career and the camp right now. Breaking internationally is something every artiste aspire to, so the key is to remain focused, stay consistent and make good music for the people.” – Govana added.
Amassing over a million views online, the two have enlisted the services of accomplished video director RD Studios for the official visual which is slated for release in the weeks ahead. The video was shot throughout the Kingston and St. Catherine metropolis and exhibits the duo living a life of opulence.
Meanwhile, the 4th Genna hitmakers have managed to nab a combined eight nominations for this year’s Your View Awards (YVAs) and International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) respectively. Govana has been nominated for the YVA’s ‘Breakthrough Artiste of the Year’, while Aidonia remains in contention for Hottest Summer Song for ‘Yeah Yeah’, Favourite Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Favourite Carribean Artiste of the Year’, Favourite Local Male Artiste of the Year and Favourite Chart Topping Song of the Year. At the IRAWMAs he’s nominated for ‘Deejay of the Year’ and Song of the Year with ‘Banga’.
