50 Cent’s “Power” renewed for two more seasons

50 Cent’s “Power” has been renewed for at least two more seasons after the Season 3 opener broke the Starz record for the most-watched episode of an original series in the network’s history.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Season 4 and 5 have already been renewed after Sunday’s Season 3 premiere saw a record 2.2 million viewers. The series has now been moved to a new Sunday night time slot which seems to beneficial to its popularity.

The rapper who also stars in the series as Kanan, the main protagonist in pitched against James St. Patrick aka Ghost, who is played by Omari Hardwick.

“I knew ‘Power’ was going to be something special from the first concept meeting I had with [producer] Mark Canton,” said 50 cent. “The fans’ support for the show has been the driving force of its success and I can’t wait to bring them two more seasons full of action and suspense.”
