Vybz Kartel says Dancehall needs a new Queen but Mavado isn’t qualified

Dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel has been very outspoken during the last few weeks as the bio of his official Instagram account continues to be updated with views from the ‘Fever’ deejay.

On Friday the self-proclaimed ‘Worl Boss’ took to social media once again this time to rant about Dancehall needing a new Queen while taking jabs at Mavado saying he’s not qualified for the position.  “DANCEHALL NEED ONE DANCEHALL QUEEN!! ( NO VADO, NOT U… ),” He wrote. “EVERY GIRL WHO CAN DANCE, CALLS HERSELF DHQ.. WHO IS THE REAL DHQ!!??? STILL CARLENE?.”

Carlene Smith is Jamaica’s first Dancehall Queen. She was crowned Dancehall Queen in 1992. While there had been other Dancehall Queens before her, she started the national spotlight on a reign that was usually isolated to the Jamaican garrisons.
