Dancehall fans are once again calling for Vybz Kartel to be freed after Cash Plus boss Carlos Hill recently beat fraud charges.

Calls for the incarcerated dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel to be released have re-emerged following the recent not guilty ruling in the fraud case involving controversial businessman Carlos Hill.

Hill was the former head of the failed Cash Plus investment scheme which saw Jamaican investors lose billions of dollars.

Vybz Kartel’s fans took to social media earlier this week calling for the “Infrared” deejay to be immediately freed as the system continues to be hypocritical in its judgements.

According to several fans, criminals from “uptown” are continuously allowed to get away with serious crimes, while persons from the lower class are punished often without sufficient evidence.

Several fans made specific notes of the recent rulings in the infamous “X6” Murder trial and Hill’s fraud case.

One fan took to Instagram to post “All these wealthy uptown people getting away with murder and fraud, but because Vybz Kartel is a ghetto youth them send him to prison #FreeWorldBoss,” while another vented that “If Carlos Hill can walk free why is Kartel in prison, the system is so unfair.”

Vybz Kartel was sentenced to life in prison, with 35 years before being eligible for parole for the 2011 murder of Clive Lizard Williams.

The incarcerated superstar will seek to overturn his sentence after being granted an appeal, which is set for February 2018.
