Three persons were shot dead on Sunday afternoon when gunmen opened fire at a church on Windward Road in downtown Kingston.
The incident occurred during the funeral service for 30-year-old Romain Anthony White, a higgler who was stabbed to death last month following a dispute over a parking space.
The gunmen reportedly travelled in a number of motor vehicles. Pandemonium broke out at the church once the shooting started, with the attendees fleeing in all directions.
One of the alleged attackers was held and badly beaten before being rescued by the police.He was then taken to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) for medical treatment in the custody of the police.
Four other victims are currently nursing bullet wounds.
