Rapper Wale happily welcomed the arrival of his baby girl, Zyla Moon Oluwakemi on Friday at a New York hospital.
Wale took to Twitter to welcome little Zyla, his first child saying “My baby chocolate and beautiful #BlackGirlMagic.”
The obviously overjoyed MMG lyricist went on to share a heartfelt photo on Instagram holding baby Zyla’s hand, and explaining why he kept his girlfriend, Claudia Alexis Jourdan’s pregnancy a secret.
Wale revealed that they decided to keep pregnancy news a secret from the world because of the pain from his ex-girlfriend’s miscarriage. The rapper also revealed how the news of his first child inspired him to work on his latest album SHINE.
“I named my album SHiNE when I knew my babygirl was on the way …I want to be a better man than I ever been. I’m so flawed I’m so imperfect and the world knows it… I just want to honestly be the best version of myself I can be.. My focus is renewed I’m infinitely in love with my princess.”
