Vybz Kartel’s legal team will have a much shorter timeframe to present their case following a decision by judges to significantly slash the allotted time to hear the appeal.

The entertainer’s appeal trial has taken a new twist as defence and prosecution attorneys will now only have only one day each to present their arguments in court following a decision by judges.

According to reports, judges slashed the timeframe by as much as two weeks, giving both sets sides significantly less time to present their case.

On Monday the defence team scored a significant victory in the Court Of Appeal after a panel of judges approved applications for three fresh pieces evidence to be heard in the trial.

The new evidence included a written statement from the prosecution’s star witness, as well as cell phone evidence contradicting the victim’s whereabouts at the alleged time of the killing.

Vybz Kartel’s appeal is set to continue on Monday, July 16.

The entertainer along with his three co-accused Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John, were convicted in 2014 for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.
