Doctors say popular music producer and party promoter Evan “Zum” Powell remains in a serious but stable condition following a gun attack in Trelawny last Thursday.
Police say the Good Good Productions CEO was shot and injured by unknown assailants along a section of the Salt Marsh main road in Trelawny on Thursday.
The Britjam promoter was reportedly driving towards Montego Bay from Kingston, when a vehicle drove up and opened fire hitting him several times. The gunmen were however forced to retreat after a licensed firearm passenger in Powell’s vehicle returned fire.
Powell was reportedly shot four times in his legs during the brazen attack, and was rushed to the Trelawny hospital, and later transferred to the Cornwall Regional hospital for emergency surgery.
Medical reports have indicated that the popular businessman will remains in serious but stable condition after completing surgery.
Police say no motive has been established yet for the shooting.
