Canadian R&B crooner The Weeknd has broken Spotify’s record for most streams in one day with his latest album Starboy, according to Pitchfork.
The Weeknd’s latest album debuted debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart on Friday, supported by its lead singles “Starboy” and “False Alarm.” The album features collaborations with artiste such as Kendrick Lamar, Future and Lana Del Ray.
The previous Spotify record for most streams in a day was held by Justin Bieber, who recorded 36 million streams on November 13 for his Purpose album.
Rapper Drake still has the record for the most-streamed song ever for his hit single “One Dance” from his album VIEWS.
