Jamaican and Dancehall music was well represented on Tuesday night at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards thanks to Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Shenseea, Koffee, Skip Marley and ZJ Liquid.
BET announced the Jamaican lineup on their Twitter page Monday night when they wrote, “Yuh no seh Jamaica ah run tings! 🇯🇲 Thanks to Dancehall/Soundclash culture, Hip Hop gained its competitive roots! #HipHopAwards”.
Shorty after they confirmed that Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Shenseea, Koffee, Skip Marley and ZJ Liquid would be featured during a popular feature of the award show, the Cypher, which allows artistes to demonstrate their skills in an informal manner via freestyles.
The Cypher was shot on location in Jamaica at Hope Gardens in Kingston.
