According to polls conducted by The Star, the two Dancehall superstars continue to rule the Dancehall scene despite the growing popularity of newcomers.
Vybz Kartel’s popularity seems as strong as ever, as a majority of fans declared the “Worl Boss” as the top act of 2019.
Vybz Kartel’s closest rival in the polls was surprisingly Teejay. Others who rounded off the top five included Popcaan, Masicka and Alkaline.
Kartel’s continued dominance is seemingly reflective by his musical output, as the deejay charted over 10 hit singles this year.
In the female category, Spice was declared the rebounding champion. Her closest rival was Shenseea, while others such as Jada Kingdom, and Koffee represented well.
It is necessary to cite that polls are not representative of the entire Dancehall industry. However, they do provide a good indication of what fans think.
