Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel has paid homage to slain rapper Pop Smoke.

Vybz Kartel is the latest Dancehall superstar to pay respect to slain rapper Pop Smoke, who was killed last Wednesday.

The Worl Boss took to Instagram earlier this week to post a pic of the “Dior” rapper while paying his respects.

“R.i.p. @realpopsmoke Jah know youth mi feel away condolences to your family. We never met but you fully Gaza n we fully smoke! SIP Dawg,” he wrote.

Vybz Kartel is only the latest Dancehall figure to react to the tragic news, with others such as Popcaan and Kranium doing so earlier.

It’s unclear whether Pop Smoke was actually a fan of Vybz Kartel, but sources say he was a huge fan of dancehall music. Last week Kranium revealed that the rapper would frequently add dancehall segments to live performances.

The rapper’s production team also chimed in on the claims, echoing his love for Dancehall. The house also confessed that there were talks of a possible collaboration with Jada Kingdom.

On Wednesday the fast-rising Brooklyn rapper Pop Smoke was gunned down at a Beverly Hills residence in Los Angeles.

According to TMZ reports, Pop Smoke was fatally shot during an apparent home invasion robbery. He was 20 years old.
