The family of incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel think there’s more to his recent health scare that’s not being told to the public.

The self-proclaimed ‘Worl Boss’ was hospitalized last week with an apparent kidney-related ailment however Doctors are be still investigating the cause of his illness.

According to sources close to the “Mhm Hm” deejay’s family, Kartel’s common-law wife Tanesha ‘Shorty’ Johnson and is kids are very concerned about his health with many family members questioning if the deejay was poisoned behind bars.

“Everyone is worried because it seems like his condition is much worse than what they are telling, it’s like the doctors are hiding something from us,” the source said. “Kartel never had a kidney problem before so right now we are even wondering if someone poisoned him because they attempted to do it before.”

Back in 2015, prison authorities foiled a murder plot against Vybz Kartel when an inmate smuggled knives and a poisonous substance inside a section of the prison. Two bottles of an unknown poisonous substance were allegedly smuggled in by an ancillary worker inside the prison.

Vybz Kartel is serving a life sentence for the murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams. He was convicted along with Shawn Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones in the Home Circuit Court in March 2014 after a 65-day trial, the longest in Jamaican history.

The self-proclaimed ‘Worl Boss’ must serve 35 years before becoming eligible for parole. Shawn Campbell and Kahira Jones, who were sentenced to serve a minimum of 25 years, and Andre St John, who can apply for parole after serving 15 years of a life sentence.

Despite being behind bars for nearly six years, his music still dominates the local and international airwaves.
