Vybz Kartel came under fire from Unruly supporters over the weekend for allegedly being reluctant to send Popcaan congratulations.

Over the weekend, Popcaan received two Billboard plagues for his latest projects, FIXTAPE and Vanquish.

Vanquish released in December 19 2019, it debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. While FIXTAPE was released on 7 August this year via OVO Sound and Warner Records, also went to number 2 on that chart, and it debuted at number 94 Billboard 200 chart.

“Forever Grateful 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿 wey me unruly family them dey??? We up forever #wayup #stayup @billboard #hardwork,” Popskull captioned the video.

“Dem ting ya mi a talk bout enuh,” Popcaan said with a spliff in hand while unwrapping the Billboard plaques.

“Grammy next,” one person was heard saying in the background as Popcaan’s smash hit single Dream is being played. “Who a di world pilot,” another added.

The entertainer continued by giving a shoutout to his former mentor Vybz Kartel and current label OVO, “It was all a dream once, reality now. Big up Vybz Kartel, yuh hear dat. OVO Sound, Unruly, fi life. Dem ting ya wi a talk bout,” he said.

On Sunday, Vybz Kartel took to his Instagram account and uploaded a photo of his gold record plague and wrote, “Everbody posting accolades so mi mek a post. #GoldFromPrison #Whobadso? @GAZANATION.”

However a few Popcaan supporters weren’t feeling the post and calling him out, “u a hater Vybz…Only person posted was pop,” one wrote.

The fan added, “…do you know what making it on the Billboard means That’s something big in the USA, everybody should’ve reposted pop (Popcaan) that’s all I’m saying…Vybz my n—ga but he could’ve support pop (Popcaan) they coming from same place.”

Mavado was also blasted after an old video of the plague he received for his collaboration on DJ Khaled’s album surfaced online. Dancehall fans quickly called out the Gully Gad for the move. One Twitter user said, “wonder of Movado know she anuh his album get Platinum…he was just featured in a song on an album that got Platinum…his ong didn’t even make anything… meanwhile Popcaan mixtapes debuted at #2 on the Billboard. Levels to this.”

Meanwhile, in a follow-up post, Vybz Kartel uploaded Popcaan’s video and sent his congratulations, “Blessings Pon Blessings Dweet Ute @popcaanmusic Far U A Fwd From Dem Deven Know Datt Hard Work N Determination Dweet From Then Till Now Upfully Fam From E Gazanation @vybzkartel Real Boss Big Up @notnicerecords.
