Vybz Kartel’s legal team has urged the Court Of Appeal to forget ordering a retrial arguing that the case is marred by multiple deficiencies.
On Monday attorney Bert Samuels, who is representing entertainer Shawn Storm, urged the court not to consider a retrial as the defects in the case were “incurable.”
According to Samuels, a retrial would be seen as unjust as “Any attempt to cure them for retrial purposes would be to give the prosecution a second bite at an infected cherry.”

The arguments were made by the defence during Monday’s hearing. Vybz Kartel’s lead attorney, Valerie Neita-Robertson, is set to present her arguments in the appeal at the next hearing.
Vybz Kartel and his three co-accused Shawn Campbell, Kahira Jones, and Andre St John were convicted in 2014 for the murder of killing Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams at a house in Havendale, St Andrew.
