Vic Mensa cancels Detroit show after club makes “Racist” Tweet

Rapper Vic Mensa has canceled a scheduled performance at the Populux nightclub in Detroit after being made aware of a “racist” tweet made by the venue.

The rapper who was scheduled to perform at the Detroit venue on July 29 as part of his “Back With A Vengeance” Tour made the announcement via Twitter.

“Will not be performing at @PopuluxDetroit on #BackWithAVengeance due to the racist comments they tweeted yesterday.”

The rapper’s tweet included a screen capture of the tweet made by Populux, which has since been deleted.

“#blameobama all you libtards caused these deaths. #dallasshooting #f**kblacklivesmatter”

The nightclub however released a statement claiming their Twitter account was hacked, and saying they have no knowledge of the offensive tweet.

“We didn’t authorize these tweets. We’re working to understand how our account was compromised. We stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.”
