A man was shot and killed by unknown assailants in Grange Hill, Westmoreland on Monday.
The dead man has been identified as 33-year-old vendor Damion Pettigrew of Geneva in the parish.
Police reports say Pettigrew was gunned down shortly after closing-down his business in the community. He was reportedly attacked by a group of men who proceeded to shoot him several times. He died on the spot.
The Grange Hill community has seen a significant upsurge of violent crimes since the start of the year.
