US national tests positive for Zika after visiting Jamaica

An American citizen has tested positive for the Zika virus after recently traveling to Jamaica.

Mississippi State Department of Health officials say that the Neshoba County resident tested positive for the virus shortly after returning from a trip to the island.

This now brings the state’s total number of “travel-related cases” to eleven.

A travel warning was recently issued by the State Department imploring pregnant women not travel to Zika infected countries.
