Update On Buju Banton’s First Performance After Prison Release

Jamaicans were sent into a frenzy over the weekend after it was revealed that Buju Banton’s first performance after his prison release would be in Trinidad and Tobago.

The announcement was made aboard the Love and Harmony Cruise on Sunday night by Jodian Ebanks, a member of the incarcerated Reggae icon’s marketing team.

There were no details on where the concert will be held however Ebanks said the date was set for April 22, 2019.

Buju Banton Speaks Out After Drug Dealer’s Arrest

Following Ebanks’s statement, Josef Budafuco, a member of Buju Banton’s management team issued an emergency response.

While Budafuco admitted that April 22, 2019 will see Buju Banton performing in the twin island republic. He added that talks with promoters in Jamaica and the Caribbean for a Buju Banton concert are currently underway.

The controversy started after journalists questioned why after a 10 year incarceration Buju Banton’s first performance is slated for Trinidad and not Jamaica.
