Two Westmoreland Teens Charged For Lottery Scamming

Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested and charged for breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act after they were intercepted with identity information at Good Hope in Negril, Westmoreland on Thursday.

According to reports, the two adolescents males were observed tossing a cellphone SIM card after they realized they were being observed by police officers who were patrolling the area.

Cops say a search of the SIM card revealed identity information for persons living overseas.

The teens were searched and another phone containing hundreds of lead sheets were discovered. The two were subsequently arrested and charged.

The two young men are scheduled to appear before the Savanna-la-Mar Family Court on April 4.
