Two Children Killed In Kingston Fire

Two children who were housed at Walker’s Place of Safety at 17 Lyndhurst Crescent in Kingston are dead following a fire that destroyed the premises late Monday night.

According to the Ministry of Education, more than 30 children from the home have been moved to a nearby church.

The two deceased at the privately-owned facility were unaccounted for at the time.

Social workers from the Child Protection and Family Services Agency have been providing counselling to the traumatised children and staff.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, Floyd Green says the CPFSA will be communicating with the parents of the deceased and their names and descriptions are being withheld.
