Two American women busted for trying to export cocaine

Two American women were reportedly arrested at the Norman Manley International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle just over six pounds of cocaine on Tuesday.

The women have been identified as 30-year-old Lezonn Garvins and 28-year-old Damary Smoot, both from an Ohio address in the United States.

Both women were reportedly scheduled to board an outgoing flight to Florida, when a random security check revealed that their handbags had false compartments containing six and a half pounds of cocaine in total.

The women were subsequently arrested and charged for Possession, and Dealing in and Attempting to Export Cocaine.

Smoot and Garvins are both set to appear before the Montego Bay Parish Court on Wednesday, August 31.
