T&T Cleopatra Borel in tears after qualifying for the Shot Put finals

Trinidad and Tobago Shot Put athlete Cleopatra Borel was very emotional after learning she had qualified for the finals of her event at the Rio at the Olympics.

The 37-year-old could not contain her joy as she was interviewed by ESPN following her qualification for the Shot Put Finals.

“It feels amazing. I’m so happy because I just want to represent my country. I want to make my family proud and my country proud.”

Borel threw a distance of 18.20meteres to qualify in the eight position overall.

The veteran athlete enters the Rio Olympic final after previously missing out at the Beijing and London games.
