Tommy Lee Sparta is thankful after winning his lottery scamming trial on Thursday.

Shortly after it was announced that he was freed by the Home Circuit Court of lottery scamming-related charges, the Dancehall entertainer took to social media to thank his legal team and fans.

“Freedom ? respect to my lawyer Mr.Ernest Smith an all my fans who believe in me not gonna failed you neverrrrrr,” he captioned a video on Instagram.

Tommy Lee Sparta, whose given name is Leroy Russell and his co-accused O’Brian Smith were freed after the presiding judge upheld a no-case submission made by their lawyer, Ernest Smith.

The “Happy Life” deejay and three others were charged in February 2014 on suspicion of breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transaction) (Special Provisions) Act, 2013. Two of the men were later released after no evidence was offered by cops.

The prosecution had argued that the men were involved in lottery scamming. It was alleged that in February 2014, the police raided a house in the Kingston 5 area, where lottery-scamming paraphernalia was found.

Detectives had alleged that they found a hidden file on a laptop belonging to the deejay containing the personal information of several US residents.

In his submissions, Smith argued that the Crown failed to prove that the accused men were involved in lottery scamming.

He argued that the prosecution did not prove that the gadgets in question were in the sole possession of either or both of the accused.
