Female Dancehall artiste Tifa has expressed concern towards how social media has negatively contributed to the alarming rise of domestic violence in Jamaica.

According to the female lyricist, Jamaicans have become overly consumed by a superficial culture and simply stopped loving each other. This she claims is partly due to the effects of social media, as people are increasingly becoming obsessed with lavish lifestyles and sexuality.

The “Big Bumper” deejay did not list social media as the sole cause of domestic violence but did insist that it is a contributing factor. People are entering relationships for the wrong reasons she explained, Jamaicans have developed a superficial culture of using each other, a situation which more than often ends bitterly.

The Dancehall diva even admitted to being involved in a edgy relationship in the past, but overcame it due to her strong personality. She also advised her fans to walk away from dangerous relationships first the early signs as they usually lead to more serious situations.
