A teen was taken into custody in relation to the seizure of a firearm and one round of ammunition during a police operation in Anchovy, St James on Wednesday.
According to the Anchovy police, about 10:30 pm, a team of officers were in the area when they saw a male acting suspicious.
He was accosted, searched and one Sig Sauer 9mm pistol with a magazine containing one 9mm round of ammunition was removed from his waistband.
His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
The teen is scheduled to appear before the Western Regional Gun Court on Thursday, February 8 to answer to the charges laid against him.
