Tanto Blacks believes satisfying dancehall fans is a simple task.
According to the Dancehall entertainer, who now goes by the moniker Real Rich, supporters of the genre mainly gravitate to gimmicks and negativity.
Using Alkaline as an example, Tanto Blacks says the Vendetta deejay never had to do his eye tattoo stunt during the start of his career however that is what the people love.
The “Yankee Boy” deejay, who gained fame under the moniker Tanto Blacks when he entered the popular Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall competition in 2009. He emerged among the hopefuls with his snappy, comedic verses and stage exhibitions that included gimmicks.

However while that was almost 10 years ago, Real Rich has turned out to be known for utilizing the same tactics to engage fans during his live performances across the world and on social media, a move he says is to please his fans.
“Me never did haffi come out wid gimmicks. A just the way you people did want it,” the deejay said. “If me come pon Instagram and seh: ‘People, me want unuh believe inna Almighty God,’ me get 2,000 views. But if me come and seh: ‘Me a demon. Me sign to illuminati,’ they are going to adapt to it. Me know how fi get inna dem head.”
