Even with activities on the local entertainment scene coming to a virtual standstill due to the COVID-19 outbreak, popular party promotion company, IBE Limited, believes now is the time for players in the industry to give back to the communities that supported them during fairer times.

IBE Limited is one of the partners of popular Kingston – based parties Strictly 2K and Soca Forever and this call comes as the group made donations of toiletries and sanitizing agents to the Michelle Gabriel Old Age Home and Lionel Town Hospital in Clarendon. “I want to implore other players in the entertainment industry to do as much as they can. I know this is a hard time but there are persons who have it even harder than us and now more than ever, we need to step up and give back to Jamaica,” said Ibrahim “IB” Konteh, Director of IBE Limited. “These two events that we are partners in have gotten really great support from the Jamaican public over the years and we felt that this is a perfect opportunity to return that support in this time of need.”

It was to that end, that Konteh said he contacted both the member of parliament of South East Clarendon, Pearnel Charles Jr. and PNP caretaker Mrs. Patricia Sutherland to identify where in that area their efforts would be most needed. The Michelle Gabriel Old Age Home and the Lionel Town Hospital were suggested.“The first person who sadly passed from the virus in Jamaica was from that area in Clarendon and with parts of that area now under quarantine, we felt that this was the best way to give back,” Konteh said.

The donation included several cases of toilet papers and hand sanitizers.
