Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor Looks To Return To Dancehall With New Riddim

Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor is looking to make a massive return to the Dancehall industry.

The Grammy Award Winning music producer, singer, and songwriter linked up with Govana recently for “Strike Force” which sent Dancehall fans into a frenzy.

The world class production has left Dancehall lovers begging for more and now Di Genius his teasing to drop an entire Riddim.

Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor comes from a musical family, his father is legendary veteran reggae artist Freddie McGregor and his siblings, Daniel “Chino” McGregor and Yeshemabeth “Shema” McGregor, are also singers.

While Di Genius was primarily known for producing riddims out of his “Big Ship” recording studio, he has gone on to produce and write songs for international artistes such as Sean Paul, Drake , Nelly Furtado , Lianne La Havas, Shakira, John Legend among others. The New York Times Named him a “Reggae Veteran At The Age of 18”

In 2017, Billboard.com listed Di Genius as one of the producers who brought dancehall back to mainstream, noting his work on Drake’s Hit song “Controlla” off the multi-platinum selling album Views.

His work is also featured on multiple Grammy Awards nominated albums.

Di Genius is a Dancehall legend, with iconic Riddim productions such as “Red Bull & Guinness, Ghetto Whiskey, Power Cut, Stick Up, After Dark, Bee Hive, Dark Again, Darker Shadow, 12 Gauge, Party Time, Tremor, 2070s, Advocate, Chiney K, Day Break, Day Rave, Work Out, Fitness, Outbreak, Bad People, Catalog, Championship, Gun Show, Street Swag, Winnings, Bad Acid, Iron Belt, Peppa, Tenement Yard, Bassline, and Come Round.”

Unfortunately, he has not released a riddim compilation since 2012, however it seems we are in for a treat as he took to Twitter recently and wrote, “Weh unu say. Can drop the juggling dem now? Or unu good wid the pretty pretty riddim dem?”.
