The Legal Aid Council has announced that it will be offering legal representation to persons detained during the recently declared state of emergency which is in effect for the parish of St James.

The Legal Aid Council, in collaboration with the Cornwall Bar Association, has offered the services of 19 counsels, including six senior lawyers, to provide representation for persons detained during the state of emergency.

Residents detained may contact the Montego Bay Legal Aid Clinic at 42b Union Street, Montego Bay, St James or 952-2183, or they may call the Cornwall Bar Association at 940-1960.

Residents of St James may also visit the Instagram and Facebook pages of the Cornwall Bar Association for a list of the lawyers who have been rostered for the state of emergency representation.
