Minister of Transport and Mining, Lester “Mike” Henry has issued an advisory warning St James taxi operators to be careful of whom they transport during the state of public emergency.

According to the minister, taxi drivers are in a vulnerable position as they are the most used in connections and thus will face intense scrutiny from security forces during the duration of the exercise.

Henry also urged commuters to take only “red plate” taxis for their travel as previously overlooked breaches will be under intense scrutiny during this period.

The public is also being urged to give security forces their full co-operation during the state of emergency as the exercise is only in the best interest of all Jamaican citizens.
