Spice walked away with the female Dancehall artiste of the year award on the weekend at the 37th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).

This year’s IRAWMA awards was held at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in St Andrew. This was the first time in Jamaica since 2002.

The Queen of Dancehall was up against fellow entertainers D’Angel, Shenseea, Jada Kingdom in the category.

Meanwhile, fast-rising Reggae sensation Koffee walked away with three IRAWMA awards including Best Teen Entertainer, Best Female Vocalist, and Best New Entertainer, while Dancehall deejay Popcaan secured two awards.

Other winners of the night included Bounty Killer, Freddi Mcgregor, Beenie Man, Capleton and many more.

Established in 1982, IRAWMA acknowledges the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artistes, songwriters, performers, and promoters. It was first held in Jamaica in 1991 in Montego Bay.
