Spice Reggae Sumfest

The Tropixs (Toronto, Canada) Spice and reggae singer Lila Ike’s performance in Toronto, Canada has ended in controversy.

Last weekend fans in Toronto were left fuming after the Dancehall superstar and the Reggae starlet both pulled their performances from a concert due to contractual negligence by promoters.

Several fans took to social media to voice their disappointment towards the “Cool It” deejay’s no show, claiming she should have advised them beforehand.

“I was very sad to see her taking her plane out of here this morning. Reality hit that there was no re-do today… and it would be really nice to hear from her cause I know no matter what she loves her fans,” one fan said.

Following the backlash the female artiste would go on to offer an apology to fans saying “I’m soooo devastated that you and others were treated this was. My team and I are already in talks to prevent none promoters from mixing with my brand in the future. The contract was breached and you should have been informed before entering. The venue was changed 3 times as you may know causing the outcome however I’m sorry this happened and I promise when you see me again I will make it up to you,.”

However, it seems this was not enough for some fans as several went on to insist that she should have warned them before the concert.

“Spice, why yuh neva warn wi?! Spice, I use my saving fi school fi come si yuh, from mi a 13 mi a listen to yuh & fi dis be the first mi get to see yuh an yuh nuh come nuh right fi not even getta likkle Instagram live fi tell wi all now?” one male fan complained.

“$52 CAN is 3 hours of work & more for some ppl, yuh say ago mek it up to us but how wi fi trust yuh eh?!?! For other shows yuh come mek video and warn ppl nuh fi go so why yuh neva do it fi wi,” he went on.

Reggae singer Lila Ike was however spared from most of the backlash, as she did indeed warn her fans beforehand.

On Saturday the “Second Chance” crooner took to her Instagram hours before the show to apologize to fans.

“Jah know, I like to think that everything happens for a reason. I was really looking forward to performing in Toronto today for the first time. Unfortunately however due to contractual obligations not being met, I will not be able to attend. Hope to see my Toronto fans soon. Love & light,” she captioned the post.
