Dancehall superstar Spice stepped up to Ebro in the Morning to discuss the backlash she received after showing up on social media with lighter skin, and the conversation she created with the single ‘Black Hypocrisy.’

Spice, whose given name is Grace Hamilton, also speaks on being labeled a legend, and breaks down problems with her own record label VP Records.

Spice is currently promoting her new mixtape ‘Captured.’ The project made its debut at the number one spot on the Billboard Reggae Album chart last week.

Since the Billboard Reggae Album chart was created in the mid 1990’s, only 9 female artistes have reached number one. The “Queen of Dancehall” is the third female to top the chart this year.

Spice secured the top spot after selling 505 copies in its first week. Captured was released on November 2 via Spice Official Entertainment.

The project features 19 songs including the lead single “Black Hypocrisy,” which sent Dancehall fans into a frenzy last month when Spice shared a light-skinned photo on Instagram to promote the track.

Captured is distributed by 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution. The mixtape is available on all major streaming platforms and digital outlets.
