Speechwriter won’t be fired for Melania Trump’s plagiarism scandal

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign will not fire a staff speechwriter who has accepted responsibility for Melania Trump’s alleged plagiarism during her Republican National Convention’s opening night speech.

Melania Trump’s speech was thrown into controversy after it was alleged that it mirrored a portion of Michelle Obama’s address to the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

Since the highly publicized scandal a in house staff writer, Meredith McIvr, has assumed responsibility for the entire mishap.

She explains that Melania was a long time fan of Michelle Obama’s work and had read some of it over the phone to her, which she used to construct key phrases for Melania’s speech.

McIvr claims that since the mishap she tendered her resignation to the Trump campaign camp, but the request was rejected. Claiming that Mr. Trump told her that people make innocent mistakes and grow from them.

The Trump administration initially denied any form of plagiarism, before McIvr stepped forward to take responsibility.
