‘SNL’ vet included in new ‘Hamilton’ cast for Broadway

Former “Saturday Night Live” star Taran Killam will be getting plenty of live performances next year — he’s joining the Broadway company of “Hamilton.”

Killam, who portrayed Brad Pitt and Jebidiah Atkinson during his six years on “SNL,” will play King George III and take over from Rory O’Malley on Jan. 17. Killam recently finished shooting his directorial film debut, “Why We’re Killing Gunther,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Killam will join other new cast members Bryan Terrell Clark as George Washington on Jan. 10, Alysha Deslorieux as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds on Dec. 16 and J. Quinton Johnson as Hercules Mulligan/James Madison on Jan. 6.

Currently, Javier Munoz stars as Alexander Hamilton, Brandon Victor Dixon plays Aaron Burr, Mandy Gonzalez is Angelica Schuyler and Lexi Lawson plays Eliza Hamilton.
