Jamaican Recording artiste Skip Marley has created history for the Marley family, earning their first Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit with “Chained To The Rhythm.”

The Katy Perry single which features the 20-year-old grandson of the legendary ‘King of Reggae’ Bob Marley, currently sits at the number 4 spot, the highest-charting Hot 100 hit by a member of the first family of Reggae.

Bob Marley and The Wailers only charted once on the list at number 51 with “Roots, Rock, Reggae” in 1976 while Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers charted at number 39 in 1988 with “Tomorrow People.” and 1991 at number eight-five with “Good Times.”

The only other act from the family to chart was Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley with “Welcome to Jamrock” which reached number fifty-five in 2005.

“Chained To The Rhythm” was released on February 10, Marley and Perry performed the single together for the first time at the 2017 Grammy Awards. The official music video was released yesterday, watch here.
