Shenseea Releasing Debut Album This Year – Rvssian Share Details

Shenseea is set to release her debut album this year.

The Dancehall singjay’s producer, Rvssian recently confirmed that Shenseea has been hitting the studio and is expected to drop the project in the next few months.

According to Rvssian, Shenseea will be including beats from Africa on the highly anticipated project as Afrobeats continues to make strides on the international market. Dancehall fans can also expect pop and country sounds from the “ShenYeng Anthem” deejay.

“Once she [Shenseea] blends her own elements to where people on a wider market can understand it, she’ll be set,” Rvssian told Billboard Magazine. “Caribbean music — especially Jamaican music — is the most influential genre. She’s a good representation of what Jamaica is. She’s a barrier breaker.”

Shenseea created history earlier this year becoming the first Jamaican Dancehall act signed with American label Interscope Records.

Interscope linked up with Rvssian’s Rich Immigrants imprint for the deal which has already spawned the single “Blessed” featuring rapper Tyga.

“Interscope always strives to work with artistes that can move culture on a global scale. Shenseea is already doing that,” Interscope’s EVP Joie Manda reportedly said, adding “She represents Jamaica in a loud and truly authentic voice. We couldn’t be any more pleased to partner with her and Rvssian. Many artistes go to Jamaica to learn culture, Shenseea teaches it.”

Interscope Records is owned by Universal Music Group through its Interscope Geffen A&M imprint. It was founded in late 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Field as a US$20-million joint venture with Warner Music Group’s Atlantic Records.

Artists who have signed to Interscope include Eminem, Ice Cube, The 1975, Madonna, Billie Eilish, Juice WRLD, Børns, Carly Rae Jepsen, Daya, Ellie Goulding, Gwen Stefani, Imagine Dragons, Jamie N Commons, Kali Uchis, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, Lil Mosey, Machine Gun Kelly, Maroon 5, OneRepublic, Rae Sremmurd, BLACKPINK, Selena Gomez, Skylar Grey, Tame Impala, U2, will.i.am, X Ambassadors, and Zedd.
