Shenseea Must Do More To Become Dancehall Princess Says Insiders

Shenseea crowing herself the new “Princess of Dancehall” is being shutdown by industry insiders.

The “ShengYeng Anthem” singer took to her Instagram account last week sharing that she was deserving of the title princess, since Spice is the new Queen of the genre.

“Spice a di Queen, so me a wah? Nuh must Princess! Who next?,” she wrote in a lengthy post.

However Dancehall insiders are now saying the fast-rising Romeich Entertainment artiste must do more work before claiming such a prestigious title.

According to a few players in the genre, Shenseea is too young in the business to be making such a hefty claim.

“Yes she [Shenseea] is doing a lot of work, performing across the world events and clocking millions of views on YouTube but we cannot be too quick to overlook other female entertainers that have been working for years,” one insider said. “What about Tifa, D’Angel, Vanessa Bling? Aren’t they working too?”

However veteran selector Foota Hype shared different views and he revealed that he saw no harm in Shenseea calling herself the Princess of Dancehall.

According to Foota Hype, Shenseea and Spice are the top acts in the industry right now, “Right now she [Shenseea] and Spice a get the most bookings and is not one part of the world, so supmn a gwaan right, and if she feel like she a di next thing in line to Spice, me can’t knock her to feel da way deh,” he said.
