Shaggy Featured On New Remake Of Christmas Hit “Feliz Navidad”

Shaggy is featured on the new remake of Christmas classic “Feliz Navidad”.

“Feliz Navidad” was originally written in 1970 by the Puerto Rican singer and songwriter José Feliciano. With its simple Spanish chorus (the traditional Christmas/New Year greeting, “Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad” meaning “Merry Christmas, a prosperous year and happiness”) and equally simple English verse “I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart”, made the track a classic Christmas pop song.

José Feliciano recruited Shaggy and an all-star cast of around 30 artistes for the remake.

“The idea of Feliz Navidad was to try and unite the people. My thought when I wrote the song was that it didn’t matter what language you were singing in, the feeling of Christmas is privy to all of us,” Jose Feliciano said.

The nine-time Grammy winner added that it was a dream come through for so many artistes to come together to help him spread holiday cheer.
